RYAN TREFRY

Director of Pickleball

Ryan Trefry grew up playing tennis and switched to Pickleball in 2016. Since then, he has become a USAPA rated 5.0 tournament player.  He is certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). He was a medalist at the 2019 USAPA National Championships at the 5.0 level. He started Pickleball for Juniors early in 2021 and will be bringing PFJ to Legacy.  He has been successfully running tournaments over the past 3 years throughout Arizona and the Western US.

RILEY NEWMAN

Touring Pro

Riley Newman is a professional pickleball player originally from Whidbey Island, Washington and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona. He is rated over 6.0 and is currently ranked Top 3 in the world. Newman will bring Newman Pickleball Camps to Bell Bank Park, which he teaches with his sister, fellow pro Lindsey Newman.  The Newman Nation Takeya water bottles will also be available for sale in our pro shop. Newman is currently sponsored by Takeya USA and Gamma Pickleball. 

CADEN NEMOFF

Lead Teaching Pro / Director of Programming

Caden Nemoff is a professional pickleball player originally from San Francisco, California. He is rated over 5.0 in both doubles and singles as a player, and is certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) and UTPR. Caden is a two time national champion at Nationals and currently plays tournaments throughout the United States. He is very excited to join Legacy Sports where he can help all levels of pickleball players with fundamentals, techniques, and skills.

Victor Rodrigo

Teaching Pro / Director of Leagues

Victor Rodrigo is a professional pickleball player and certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) as a teaching professional.  He rated over 5.0 and has played in numerous 5.0 and professional tournaments. Victor brings a depth of teaching experience with him as a former PE teacher and sport coach. He enjoys working with players of all ages and ratings to take their game to the next level.

Laurie Johnson

Juniors Assistant Coach

A veteran Arizona high school and university instructor, Laurie Johnson is passionate about introducing junior players to pickleball. As part of the PFJ Pickleball for Schools program, she has worked with juniors in the Mesa school district. She has assisted in Pickleball for Juniors after school clinics and was named as the assistant pro for the PFJ summer camp sessions. She is certified by Pickleball Coaching International (PCI) and hopes to bring her love for teaching and motivating students onto the Legacy pickleball courts.
