Skylar del Sol

Director

Skylar del Sol is a main draw AVP Men’s Beach Volleyball player who has represented USA in 14 international events, and is a two-time NVL National Champion. Skylar has competed with and among the most elite beach volleyball players in the world, both stateside and in exotic locations like Dubai, Iran, and Australia.

Skylar’s volleyball IQ and game strategies are widely considered unsurpassed in the industry. His ability to break down all aspects of personal performance mechanics, deconstruct (and reconstruct!) movement dynamics and incorporate both big and small picture game concepts have placed him among the most sought-after coaches in both indoor and beach volleyball.

Skylar is thrilled to have relocated to Mesa, AZ and join the Legacy Beach Family! When Skylar is not coaching, programming or training, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kellyn, son Colson and two standard poodles, Moose and Bourbon.

Justin Hertlein

Master Coach

Justin is a current indoor professional and open level beach player. He has competed with and against some of the top players in the United States on the hardwood and in the sand.

Justin has been coaching volleyball for 20 years at all levels. He has been a club director, master coach, youth director, beach director at the club volleyball level; as well as an NCAA Division 1 assistant coach at the University of California Santa Barbara. He is known for his systematic coaching and helping players create a strong foundational skills within the sport of volleyball.

Justin is excited to be here in Arizona to help guide the community towards a bright future as an Administrative Director of beach volleyball, and assistant director of boys indoor volleyball, at Legacy Sports USA. When he isn’t on the court, coaching or playing, you can find him relaxing with his loving girlfriend, three dogs, and cat at home.

Kellyn del Sol

Coach & Marketing and Social Media Director

Kellyn del Sol was a Division 1 Collegiate Athlete and coached indoor volleyball for 14 years. Her beach volleyball interest started 7 years ago when meeting her husband Skylar. She has been training, learning and enjoying the game of beach ever since. She currently coaches youth training, runs Legacy Beach marketing and assist with day to day operations. When Kellyn is not coaching she also works as a Project Manager for Zayo Group for Fiber Solutions. She enjoys spending time with her husband Skylar, her son Colson and two standard poodles, Moose & Bourbon.

Ian Carlson

Coach

Ian was a Middle Blocker at Wentworth Institute of Technology for two seasons. He received All-Conference and All-Region respectively. He is currently finishing up his undergrad in Computer Science at Arizona State University. He is in the middle of his second season traveling the US and competing on the AVP tour. This is Ian’s 4th year coaching beach volleyball. He previously coached for Flourish Beach in Colorado. Soon to be best beach volleyball player in Arizona.

Kylie Grandy

Coach

Kylie played at the University of Southern Mississippi. She finished with a school-record 39 career wins, including a 21-16 record on No. 1. Between those career and singles records, the duo earned Top-Flight honors from the AVCA as well as CCSA All-Tournament accolades. Each award also marked the first individual honors in program history. She helped Southern Miss to its most wins in program history, despite by far its toughest schedule to date. Kylie is currently pursuing her dream to play beach volleyball on the pro tour.

Tyler Poulsen

Coach

Tyler is currently a Junior and plays volleyball at McKendree University. He was a 4 year Varsity athlete in high school and has been coaching for the last few years in high school, college and now Legacy Beach! We love having Tyler a part of the Legacy Beach Team.

Ryan Pinkston

Coach

Ryan was a middle for both Laramie and Johnson County Community Colleges. As a freshman Ryan was named as an all tournament team member and was on the dean’s list for academics both years. She has16 years of indoor coaching and 4 years on the beach. She has a Masters Degree in Coaching and Exercise Science which regularly comes into use both in the gym and on the beach. This year, Ryan looks forward to running both the boy’s and girl’s volleyball programs at Shepherd Junior High School and coaching with Rush and Legacy Beach.

Trent Sellers

Coach

Trent played indoor at Los Angeles Pierce College and Cardinal Stritch University. He racked up several awards, including 4 all-conference awards and finishing his senior season ranked 1st in the nation in aces per set. Trent now pursues open level beach volleyball and most recently appeared in his first AVP main draw in Denver, CO. Trent has coached for over four years for beach and indoor boys and girls. He coached an indoor boys volleyball team and lead them to back to back National Championships. He is excited to bring his knowledge and passion to the beach.
